Museum Collections

The Shelburne Historical Society's collection consists of artefacts, data, records and objects relating to Shelburne County, its inhabitants, and its natural, cultural and economic history. These are acquired alongside supporting documentation and preserved for education, research, and exhibition at the Shelburne County Museum. We are responsible for preserving the permanent collection and making it accessible to current and future generations.

Our collection records are available online on the following platforms:

If you have questions about our collections, contact our Curator at curator@shelburnemuseums.com or use the Contact Us form on this site.

The Shelburne Historical Society is located on Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq,  in the District of Kespukwitk, home to Acadia First Nation.

We are all Treaty people.
We also honour and acknowledge the 400 year history, contribution and legacy of African Nova Scotian people and communities.
